A Roman marble portrait head of a man, Eastern Empire, ca. 3rd century AD

the finely carved stone portrays an older man with broad face, rounded forehead with hair around the ears and to the back, otherwise hairless.  Nose, ears, lips and eyes are very well detailed.
Dimensions:  Height: 2 1/2 inches  (6.35 cm)
Condition:   Intact and in excellent condition overall.
Provenance:   S.Bono private collection, acquired from Medusa Ancient Art, May 3rd, 2001 and previously in a private Canadian collection.
