A shipwrecked Roman Terracotta Amphora, ca. 2nd century CE
Of utilitarian form, with a round flat base, elongated ovoid body, wide round mouth, two large handles on either side. and attractive marine encrustation on the surface.
Condition: Intact and in very good condition.

Provenance: Private Virginia collection, acquired in the 1980s and then by descent.
