A Roman 1st century AD Glass Sherd set as a brooch

A sherd of Roman blue-green glass, ca 1st century AD, set in a silver brooch highlighted with two amethyst gemstones.

Dimensions: Length: 2 1/8 inches (5.4 cm), width: 1 5/8 inches (4.2 cm)

Condition:  Crack to glass that does not detract, the brooch is intact and in very good condition overall.

Provenance: Ex. private collection of S.H., Washington state, acquired in Jerusalem in the 1990's.
