A Pair of Near Eastern Gold & Carnelian Earrings, ca. late 1st millennium BC

feather light, these ancient beads have been set as a pair of earrings with a modern 18K gold hooped ear wire each featuring a carnelian triangular bead  of colors ranging from deep auburn to a translucent orange surmounted by a high carat spherical bead and ribbed conical element below.  

Condition:   All elements are intact and in very good condition overall, recently strung as earrings

Dimensions:  Drop Length:  5.08 cm (2 inches)

Provenance:  The beads from the Anavian Family Collection acquired over 30 years ago by David and Henry Anavian, in Iran, prior to the departure of the Shah.
