A fine Roman Bronze Penannular Fibula, ca. 1st - 3rd century AD

Penannular brooch.

Given the quality, probably dates to 1st - early 2nd century AD.  Silver examples found in Roman sites along the Northern frontier of the Empire, see p. 134 in  G. Weber (Hrsg.), "Cambodunum-Kempten. Erste Hauptstadt der römischen Provinz Raetien?" (Mainz 2000).

Condition:  Exhibiting a fine blue-green patina, the fibula is intact and in excellent condition overall. In presentation box.
