A Pre-Columbian Nazca Flared Bowl, Peru, ca. 400-600 A.D.

Polychromed pottery bowl having a wide exterior band containing two multi-color painted, highly stylized fantastic deities in centipede form.

Dimensions:Width: 9 inches (22.86 cm) 

Condition:Repaired from several original pieces, with restoration over break lines. Some roughness and loss to painted decoration. One v-shape piece reattached with visible breakline.

Provenance:Ex. Bill Freeman Estate Collection, Scottsdale AZ. & NM., ex. Ex. Emmerich Frankel, Switzerland, collected in 1967.
