A large Narino Pottery Storage Jar, Ecuador ca 1200 AD

Large anthropomorphic storage jar decorated in colors most representing life to this culture: yellow for the abundance of the sun, the black for the wise and silent night against the deep red background for life inside man. A chevron pattern at lowest level, scrolling waves next, temple design at midsection, sun and rays on the shoulder and human face at the upper section with relief nose and handles acting as ears.

Dimensions: 19"H x 13"W at widest. 

Condition:  Intact and in excellent condition overall.  With museum quality custom mount.
