A Western Asiatic Chlorite Vessel, Early Dynastic period, 2650-2550 BC

of short cylindrical form, the exterior with incised basket weave pattern.

Dimensions:  Height:  2 inches (5 cm)  Diameter:  2 3/4 inches (7 cm) 

Condition: commensurate with age with some minor chips and wear to the exterior that does not detract, the vessel is intact and in very good condition overall.   A lovely piece.

Provenance:  S. Bono private collection, Illinois; acquired from the London trade in 2003 and previously in a private English collection.
