Persian bronze kohl vessel, Seljuk Period, c. 10th - 12th Century AD

the small rounded body with incised decorative lines, long neck, elevated by four applied legs curving inward and embellished with peacocks, together with bronze applicator with peacock terminal.

Condition:  Age-appropriate oxidation and wear, minor chip to rim that does not detract, with good green/brown patina, intact and in very good condition overall.

Provenance:   Ex Collection of Abner Rafael, Rego Park, Queens, New York, acquired in the 1970's.
