A Mesopotamian Chalcedony Cylinder Seal, ca. 2000-1500 BC

the semi translucent stone well carved with the depiction of a bull, head and horns lowered, charging a standing male figure to the left, while being prodded with a spear held by another standing figure from behind. 

Condition:  Intact with s everal small edge chips to the edges and stable vertical hairline.   Overall in good condition, custom mounted with seal rollout.

Provenance:  Private NYC collection, acquired from Henry Anavian, 1990s.
