A Hellenistic Seated Terracotta figure of a Woman, 3rd-1st Century BC

Of terracotta with white slip, this delicate figure depicted seated, straight backed against the chair, hands resting on bent knees, and feet together touching the ground, her body merging into the shape of the chair, with the faint depiction of her sleeves and hair against the chair back can still be seen.

Dimensions: Height: 4.5 inches (11.43 cm)

Condition: Intact and in good condition overall. Residue attached to base from past mounting.

Provenance:  Acquired by Harry and Gertrude Lander, of New Haven CT between 1950 and 1965 while traveling and then by decent. Old price label on back.
