A Magna Grecia Xenonware Vessel, ca 4th century BC

 A fine miniature krater of elegant form, constructed from fine pinkish-red clay, the ovoid body on small disc foot, wide neck with splayed rim; two small strap handles applied between the rim and shoulder and pressed into the rim at top, the complete vessel glazed in black pigment, the front and back decorated with geometric design in creamy red wash.

ConditionWith losses to the base and rim and some encrustation to do age. Painted design fairly well intact and in good overall condition.
