Depicted as an ornately winged youth, Eros is seated on a large white rock, his right arm extended and holding a large patera, his left resting on the rock, wearing a kekryphalos, earrings, a necklace, bracelets, an anklet, and shoes, ivy leaves and a rosette surrounding him, a groundline decorated with dotted egg pattern, three borders of a wave pattern, laurel wreath, and tongues respectively radiating from the tondo to the patera edge encircle the tondo to the rim, the exterior covered in black glaze, standing on a round foot. An absolutely stunning piece!

Condition: Repaired from several pieces but complete and in good condition overall.

Provenance: Private NY collection, acquired in the 1980s, thereafter private Virginia collection since 2012.
