A Greek gold Athena ring, Classical Period, ca. 5th-4th Century BC

A beautiful gold ring with flat D-shaped hoop, the flat circular bezel depicting a finely engraved intaglio of a helmeted Athena, the Greek goddess of war and wisdom, seated on a throne. Before her is a lit thymiaterion, the smoke curling into the sky. Athena sits in profile, with one arm extended over the thymiaterion and the other raised to her mouth.

Condition: Intact and in excellent condition overall.
