An Egyptian Cartonnage Fragment of Anubis, Late Period, ca. 664 - 332 B.C.

Anubis, the god of the afterlife and of embalming, is a typical icon of Egyptian funerary objects. 

Dimensions: height: 3 inches (7.62 cm), length: 3.5 inches (8.89 cm)

Condition:fragment has light wear on the paint, and the back has some minor wear through the first layer of material, but in overall good condition with no rips or tears.

Provenance: The Simonian Family Collection of Ancient Art, Switzerland, acquired in the 1960's and then by descent, legally imported into the USA in 2016.
