An Egyptian Overseer Shabti for the Songstress of Amun, Taoudjatre, 19th Dynasty, c. 1292-1085 B.C

of blue glazed faience shown mummiform, with details in black pigment, wearing a filet over a tripartite wig, with accented eyes and eyebrows, the arms crossed over chest, each hand holding painted hoe and large seed basket on the back. Single vertical column of inscription on front reads “ The Osiris, the songstress of Amun, Taoudjatre, true of voice".

Dimensions: Height 11.5 cm (4.5 inches)

Condition:  Loss to nose professionally restored, some firing cracks and glaze imperfections. Otherwise, intact and in very good condition overall.  On custom 1950's mount.

Provenance:  acquired from Susette Khayat, Ancient Arts Gallery, 5th Ave, New York City, in the 1950's.
