An Egyptian Sandstone Relief Fragment, New Kingdom, ca. 1550 - 1295 BCE
Carved in sunk relief depicting a protective rearing cobra facing right, possibly part of a pharaonic headdress, the reverse with partial incised wedjet eye.
Condition: Fragmentary as described, it very well incised and in good condition overall.
Dimensions: Height: 3 inches (7.5 cm), Width: 3 5/8 inches (9.2 cm)
Provenance: R.D. private collection, acquired from the NY trade, as part of a collection assembled in the 1970's and 1980's.
