An Egyptian Nile Clay Ration Bowl, Old Kingdom (ca. 2686 - 2134 BC)

Made from a cob mixture of Nile silt clay and straw, the rounded body on flat base. Thousands of similar bowls have been found at workers villages where workers would receive payment in the form of food rations.

Dimensions:Height: 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), width: 4 1/2 inches (11.4 cm)

Condition: Intact and in excellent condition overall.
