An Egyptian Jar with punctate decoration, Predynastic Period, ca. 3400-2950 BC

Predynastic jar with punctate decoration. Reddish Nile Clay with red slip. 

Condition : Loss to rim and two small crack on either side of the rim, otherwise intact and in good condition overall.

Dimensions:  Maximum: 5 5/8 x 4 3/4" (14.3 x 12 cm)

Provenance: Toledo Museum of Art, accession number 17.741, acquired from Azeez Khayat December 5, 1917, and sold Sothebys, NY June 12, 1993, thereafter a private NY collection, on loan to the Michael C Carlos museum 1998 - 2015, loan number: L1998.062.006. The copy of the Toledo Museum record will accompany this object.
