Medium: painted ceramic

of nile silt clay, the round body with long neck and flared rim, the green glaze applied to imitate stone, traces of original inscription to the front.

Dimensions:Height: Maximum (width includes handles): 9 3/4 x 6 7/8 x 5 in. (24.8 x 17.5 x 12.7 cm)

Condition:Chips to rim, handles professionally restored by the Carlos museum, some surface loss to glaze, overall in good condition.

Provenance:Private NY collection acquired Audrey Davis, Astarte Gallery, 1981, thereafter on loan to the Michael C Carlos museum, Emory University, 1999 - 2015, loan number: L1999.033.002
