* An Egyptian Faience Ring Seal, Amarna Period, ca. 1375 - 1295 BCE
Molded in high relief, a very fine faience bezel seal of bright turquoise blue, featuring a lotus blossom, a flower considered magical by the Ancient Egyptians symbolizing renewal, regeneration, and spiritual rebirth. Here it is portrayed as a long central lotus blossom bordered by lotus buds to either side and below. The seal has been mounted into an antique 18K rose gold ring following ancient design.
Condition: the seal is intact and in very good condition overall, the gold ring has a few small dents that are age consistent but do not detract.
Dimensions: US ring size: 5 (UK: J 1/2, EU: 9.25 )
Provenance: Private NY collection, acquired in the early 1970s
