A blue faience head of the god Ptah-Sokar, a different form of Ptah. Depicted as a dwarf and considered the oldest of the gods. He was called "Father of the mighty fathers, father of the beginnings, he who created the Sun Egg and the Moon Egg, the creator of his own image." he protected and patronized artists.  Found at Thebes, Upper Egypt.

 Dimensions: Length: 3/4 inch (1.9 cm)

Condition: Very minor surface losses, and loss below the chin.

Provenance: Ex. Phillip Mitry, 1976, thereafter the  Harer Family Trust Collection.
