A Harappan Civilization Indus Valley Cup, ca. 3rd Millennium BC

A lovely terracotta cup with a short footed base that widens to a cylindrical body and flared rim. Decorated with brown paint on a pale tan background, three lines painted under the rim and two above the base as a groundline, a standing bird on either side of the cup, both decorated with lines throughout the body and large eyes.

Dimensions: Height: 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm)

Condition: Intact and in excellent condition overall.

Provenance:   Private California collection, acquired from the London trade in the late 1990's.
