As a member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), Sue McGovern, President of Sands of Time is qualified to provide professional written appraisals.
Professional appraisals are prepared for the following purposes:
We can authenticate and appraise individual works of ancient art or entire collections. Every appraisal is personally prepared by Sue to ensure the work adheres to the ethical and professional guidelines established by the national Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the official guidance document published by the Appraisal Standards Board (ASB) of The Appraisal Foundation (TAF).
USPAP was adopted by the United States Congress in 1989 following the problems caused by the savings and loan crisis and defines a set of recommended procedures and ethical standards for appraisers. A mark of professionalism, USPAP compliance serves to protect users of appraisal services. Sue is USPAP-compliant as part of her ISA membership requirements and her appraisals meet all current requirements set forth by USPAP, the IRS and the high standards of the ISA.
By analyzing current trends and conducting comprehensive research, Sue closely monitors the nuances of the current market. Each client and appraisal situation is unique so our appraisal service is tailored to meet your timeline and specifications. Efficiency and effectiveness from initial review to the delivery of the final documents is a top priority. Fees for appraisals are determined by the number of hours involved and the necessary travel and expenses. Our fees are negotiated based upon the express needs of each client and are competitive within the marketplace.
We invite inquiries from individuals, estate liquidators, museums, educational institutions, consultants, architects, interior designers, as well as colleagues, collectors and investors. Please contact us for further details.
